Sister Act

I found out a while ago that my sister cleared her MBA exams.
I am filled with a sense of Pride and Joy for her.
This also means that she is more qualified than I am.
Currently my dad has a Graduate degree in Commerce and an LLB( Law in short)
My sister joins the astute ranks with a Graduate degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Finance Marketing (Edited April 14th,read comments).
I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I shot emails to all my friends at work.
One friend commented as to when I would join the ranks.
My answer: I already have an MBA, it is in a specialist skill called Laziness.
Let me assess my strengths in this rarest of specializations.
(Note the formidable presentation skills)
  • Excellent procrastination skills.
  • Self Motivated and goal oriented .........towards the closest EXIT.
  • Ability to spew forth inconsequential and irrelevant data, classified as feces or noxious toxic gases, from any of the available male human orifices, on will.
  • Summa cum Laude in Indolence.
  • Research paper on Sloth and it's consequences on the Polar Ice caps, published in Acedia Weekly.
  • Repeatedly won championships in Guile,Chicanery,Shenanigans-R-Us.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in arcane arts and warcraft like the ones found in Fantasy based books and Computer/video games.
  • Specialization in the geographical trends impacting migration of winged dragons of Hyboria.
  • Striving for continuing excellence in God Of War-God mode.
  • Ability to synergise the energy levels of peers by pro-actively raising the bar through management based ancillary financial growth pills.

And many more seemingly inborn but historically untriggered skills that are yet to be explored by my inherently noumenon unconscious striving to reach a zenith where I can successfully attain- a natural and periodic state of rest during which the whole consciousness of the world is suspended, also defined by the princeton.edu as sleep, therebly tending to achieving a cascading domino effect nadir tantamounting to a rumbling and massive pain in the head of the reader caused by dilation of cerebral arteries or muscle contractions or a reaction to drugs ,also known as a headache,as defined by the already cited astute princeton.edu dictionary .

Need I say more?

The saga of the Incredible Hulk

When Stan Lee & Jack Kirby created the Incredible HULK, they bestowed upon their creation the persona of Dr. Jekyll (Dr. Bruce Banner) and Mr Hyde (HULK "smash"!) and the image of The Frankenstein. What a beautiful master stroke. With one bold touch the maestros were able to bring into existence a creature for our age encompassing two of the most powerful, terrifying, raging monsters of yesteryear.

Dr Jekyll Mr. Hyde

Boris Karloff as Frankenstein

Incredible HULK #1. Notice Dr. Robert Bruce Banner transforming into the HULK.
Verily! The Strangest man of all time!

The HULK had a long list of forays into celluloid.
Notably, the 1978-82 TV series ,starring Lou Ferrigno as the HULK and Bill Bixby as Dr Bruce Banner. There were other movies starring the two with interesting titles, like the 1978 TV Movie," The Incredible Hulk:Married".
Married!
I mean, seriously.

Then came Ang Lee in 2003 with a very different comic book super hero movie. When other directors ,like Stan Lee and Brian Singer ,were making commercially viable and seriously entertaining movies ,based out of popular characters from the Marvel stable, which sent the cash registers ringing, Ang tried a totally different approach at this genre.
The movie was reviewed as dull.Slow paced.BORING.
It seems the mainstream movie going audience was not looking for a tragic, flawed super hero.
Still , there were a lot of good reviews of the movie.
According to wikipedia,Lee claimed he cited influences from King Kong, Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast, Faust and Greek mythology for his interpretation of the story.
I liked this movie inspite of its so called "pitfalls". I think Eric Bana did a good job with the script that was provided to him , although I would have liked someone with a weaker physical frame to play that character.

Which brings us to the reason why this post was written.
I had no idea that there was a sequel-movie being made that is going to be released in June, starring Edward Norton in the role of Dr Banner ( a very good casting choice , I must say).

This movie is directed by Louis Leterier, the French director whose previous claim to fame were the action packed Transporter movies, starring Brit Bulldog,Jason Statham and the Jet Li-Morgan Freeman starrer, Unleashed.

Apparently , there has been a low key buildup for this movie.I can imagine, with Speilberg's Indy Jones, Robert Downey Junior as Iron Man , Wachowski Brother's Speed Racer, Hancock,Prince Caspian and ...... The Dark Knight.

I'm really interested in viewing the trailer of the Hulk movie, (if it materializes) and I hope the movie lives upto the expectations of HULK's leagues of fans( yes, there are thousands of us out there who adore the hulk planted amongst humans, much like the martians from the Grant Morrisson "JLA" series!)

Movie of my life

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic

Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.

But if someone's obsessed with you, look out! Your fans are downright freaky.

Your best movie matches: Office Space, Showgirls, The Big Lebowski

Last dance of the self-realization voodoo monkey

I was Singing to work,
On a sunny Monday morning,
Humming a song , filled with mirth,
When it started snowing without warning!

I saw an Ouroboros, and cried for help,
"Alas!" said I, realising my folly,
"Ouroboros can't talk and Cats don't Yelp!"
"And I'm going to be late for work, most Prolly".

I was Singing on my way back home,
On a starry Monday evening,
Humming a song , filled with mirth,
When it started raining without warning!

I saw a Chimera leap at me and ducked quickly,
It was half Panther and half Wolf called Pulfy,
"Is it raining or is it me?!"
"Or am I thinking of Mowgli ?"

I was Sleeping on my bed at home,
On a Cloudy Monday night,
Humming a song , filled with mirth,
When the alarm bell started ringing without warning!

As I woke from my slumber,
It was a midsummer saturday morning,
Bright day,blue skies, birds chirping,
Thats when I realised I was daydreaming!

Thats my weird song ,my friend,
Don't try to ape me and start a new trend!
Hum a song , fill yourself with mirth,
"Bullshit","crapshoot!" Egad! curse words without warning!
