While I was IMDBing today , reading the reviews of the breathtaking and visceral "Bourne Ultimatum", I realised that Matthew Vaughn,the Director of "Stardust", the movie adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel,is going to direct the movie based on this Mjolnir wielding Norse God's Marvel Avatar, The Mighty Thor!
I hope the screenwriters come up with a good script.The best Thor story that I have read in a while has to be the Garth Ennis' written "Thor:Vikings" saga, part of the Marvel-MAX line of comics.
The story is based on a cursed lot of unruly,blood thirsty, barbaric(!) Vikings who
are cursed during one of their raids ,get lost in the Atlantic,and happen to reach modern day New York City.The Vikings think they have entered a previously uncharted realm and the New Yorkers initially think they are hired actors.
A few things to note.
Somehow The Vikings are Immortal.
Since this is written by Garth Ennis , a lot of bloodshed and mayhem ensues.
Thor gets his ass beat but manages to triumph in the end.
Superman 2, anyone?
